  • Black and white, HEAD & SHOULDERS ONLY: Up to 9 drawings per hour

  • Black and White HEADS & BODIES: Up to 5-7 drawings per hour

  • Color HEAD ONLY: up to 5-7 per hour

  • Color HEADS & BODIES: up to 3-5 per hour

PRICING:

Pricing for Live Event Caricatures:

$100 per hour – (for any event less than 30 miles from Indianapolis, IN) 2-hour minimum

$150 per hour – (for events over 30 miles from Indianapolis, IN, but less than 60 miles away) 3-hour minimum for events over 59 miles from Indianapolis

$500 minimum – (for ALL events over 100 miles from Indianapolis, IN) 

If liability insurance is required for your venue, an extra $50 charge will be required. However, most venues don’t require liability insurance.

MINIMUM TIMES:

3-hour minimum for events over 60 miles away.

$600 minimum for events over 140 miles away from Indianapolis

CARICATURES BY POSTAL MAIL/EMAIL

Would you like to have me draw a caricature of you or of someone you know! I can work from a photo, or photos you send me, to create caricatures of you, your friends and family on commission. Caricatures are fun, unique gifts that fit almost any occasion!

HERE’S THE SKINNY:
Email or postal mail me a photo (or photos) of the subject (or subjects) you want me to draw. It’s possible for me to work from only one photo; however, I prefer about three or more photos, from various angles. I will then draft a rough sketch of just the face and send it to you via e-mail. This is a preview of the finished product to ensure that you are satisfied. If you request any changes, then would be the time to let me know.

PAYMENT:
Once you approve the sketch, I will e-mail you an invoice. I accept payments through Cash App, PayPal, or Zelle only! Once I receive payment, I will begin working on the final drawing. Once the drawing is complete, I will e-mail a high-res JPEG copy of it to you.

The prices below are for caricatures rendered from photos. If you’re interested in pricing for live events, please check out my live events rates (see above).

  • One-person black & white head and shoulders only drawing with no background (9 x 12 Bristol Board – single subject – $50 (includes shipping & handling)
    • Background – $15 additional fee
    • Each additional person in the same drawing (up to two subjects, 11 x 14 bristol board, black & white) – $15
  • One-person colored head and shoulders only drawing with no background (9×12 Bristol Board – single subject; 11×14 Bristol Board multiple subjects, up to 3 subjects) – $75 (includes shipping & handling)
    • Background – $15 additional fee
    • Each additional person (up to five subjects, 19 x 24 bristol board in the same drawing colored) – $25

*NOTE*
The two dimensions to choose from for multiple figures are: 11 x 14 and 19 x 24. I use 11 x 14 for
up to two subjects, while I use 11 x 14 for over three subjects.

MY CARICATURE CREATION PROCESS

STEP ONE: I have a conference with the client to get a sense of what they want (we’ve already done that).
STEP TWO: I create a layout sketch for composition and proportion. This is done on tracing paper (usually on a smaller scale than the finished product – 9 x 12) and this will give the client a sense of what to expect in the final product, and work out any necessary changes beforehand.
STEP THREE: Create a detailed pencil under sketch on heavier sketch paper. This sketch will give the client a good sense of the finished product and will be the last opportunity to make any changes or tweaks.
STEP FOUR: I apply inks to the pencil sketch on the final surface (a heavier paper called bristol board). This is done on a light board and traced from the previous step.
STEP FIVE: I apply color (if necessary or ordered by the client) and, of course, ship it out to the client.

COLORED CARICATURE EXAMPLES

Image 1 is Stephen King rendered with black marker and pastels. This coloring method takes longer and increases the cost by $25.

Image 2 is a black & white only marker rendering of a client from a photo.

Image 3 is a black & white only marker rendering of a group.

Image 4 is me rendered in black and colored markers. This coloring method is fastest and requires no additional fees.

HOW TO ORDER

Prior to payment: Please fill out the form below and send me your PHOTOS.

Once I receive your photos, I’ll send you an email invoice, or you can check out with the shopping cart choices at the bottom of this page, whichever is most convenient for you.

Please send photos of the person(s) you want to be drawn: Please send high-quality shots that clearly show the face from the front view or 3/4 view. 

Please allow up to 5 to 10 business days after payment is received for the drawing to be completed. 

*NOTE* The better the reference, the better the caricature will turn out.
